(Summer 2022) – Dispensers are the last line of defense in protecting patients from harmful prescription drugs. A recent publication by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) revealed that a majority of dispensers do not understand the complexity of DSCSA regulations and are not prepared for current parts of the law, let alone 2023. The HDA also commented on dispenser knowledge being inconsistent, especially among small hospital and independent pharmacies.
Several supply chain partners collaborated to provide dispensers with educational resources to help them understand and implement DSCSA compliance.
