VHHA Shared Services Corporation and InfiniTrak Announce Partnership to Help Health Care Providers Comply with the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA)
In response for growing concern about the security of the nation’s drug supply chain, and to support full enforcement of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA), the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA) Shared Hospital Services Corporation today announces its partnership with InfiniTrak, the premiere cloud-based software-as-a-service DSCSA compliance solution.
The DSCSA is being implemented by the FDA to create a nationwide electronic, interoperable system to identify and trace certain prescription drugs. The act outlines critical steps to verify drug supply chain trading partners, purchasing data, and product quality. After delaying enforcement of these regulations, the FDA is now actively engaged in industry compliance with the law. The ongoing development of standards and the mechanisms for product tracking will continue to be phased in until 2023.
“Our vision is to help VHHA member institutions improve their overall performance through the delivery of innovative solutions that meet their changing needs. Through its drug supply chain compliance software solution, this is exactly what InfiniTrak provides,” said David Jenkins, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Virginia Hospital Shared Services Corp. “Through this partnership, we have the opportunity to provide an excellent product that will help VHHA members as they continue to transform today’s health care system.”
InfiniTrak CEO Denise Garcia added: “InfiniTrak is excited to be working with VHHA to offer its members a comprehensive, cost-effective solution to the complex compliance issues posed by DSCSA. The security of our national drug supply chain is challenged each day, and we are honored to work with the VHHA membership to help promote compliance and proactive best practices.”
In addition to VHHA Shared Services, InfiniTrak is also working with State Pharmacy Associations and other pharmacy services administration organizations (PSAOs) nationwide, providing exclusive access to its software as a benefit of membership.
InfiniTrak is at the forefront of the new FDA regulations, spearheading efforts in education and outreach, helping providers affected by these new regulations to understand the key requirements of the DSCSA’s implementation, and offering a cutting-edge software solution. As part of its education outreach, InfiniTrak recently launched www.dscsa.training to provide another portal through which to stay informed on DSCSA. The new website also serves as a platform to aggregate educational resources, curated materials, educational tools, and guidance on federal enforcement as DSCSA regulations evolve.
The Virginia Hospital Shared Services Corporation, VHHA Shared Services, was founded by the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association in 1980 to deliver an array of products and resources to help Virginia hospitals and health systems improve their clinical, financial, and operational performance.
